Six Men Jailed for Attack on Afrika’s Office

The six men charged for the attacks last month against Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Afrika’ and the TRNC Legislative Assembly building have been sentenced to between two and six months in prison.

Judge Tacan Reynar who was presiding over the case found all of the six accused guilty of the charges of unlawful assembly, rioting, causing damage to property and inflicting intentional harm.

The accused Mehmet İpek and Ahmet Türkmen were sentenced to six months in prison.

The third accused Abdülhadi Doğan was sentenced to four months in prison while Bayram Ak and Ümit Taş received 3 months and Oktay Güney two months.

The six men were part of a group of angry demonstrators who attacked Afrika’s offices on January 22 after the daily likened Turkey’s Afrin operation in northern Syria to Ankara’s presence in the TRNC.

Protesters threw rocks and eggs at the building smashing windows and brought the newspaper’s sign down causing significant damage. Later some of the demonstrators climbed onto the roof of the TRNC parliament waving flags before being brought down by police.

Kim Kardashian Forgot to Tell Scott About Her Baby

Poor Scott Disick. Turns out the Lord, as he likes to be called for some inexplicable reason, had absolutely no idea that Kim Kardashian was expecting another baby via surrogate because everyone forgot to tell him - and he was in a complete state of shock when he casually showed up at Kim's house and discovered her nursery.

In a clip from Sunday's episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Scott seems befuddled to hear the news. "I’ll be quite honest, I don’t even know what this room is," Scott said when he stepped into Chicago's room, adding "For another baby?!" when Kim mentioned it was a nursery.

The rest of the conversation went, awkwardly, like this:

Kim: "Is this a joke? Do you not know we’re having another baby?"

Scott: "Not really."

Kim: "Scott, we’re having a baby in a couple of months."

Scott: "Are you being serious?"

Kim, a few more confused musings later: "I never had this conversation with you?”

Ummm...can everyone please start paying attention to poor Scott, bless him?!

Nigerian student abducted and killed in Famagusta North Cyprus

The body of a 28-year-old Nigerian student has been recovered at the Çanakkale Pond near Famagusta.

According to police investigation, Kennedy Toomwabwa Dede was assaulted by 8 people, yesterday, kidnapped from his car, taken to the Çanakkale Pond, seriously beaten and killed there.

Three Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus citizens, namely, OK (E-18), ZK (E-22) and B.Ç. (K-16), have been arrested in connection with the case. The police are still investigating...

PEGASUS plane carrying 162 people slid off of a runway and nearly went off a cliff into the sea

TRABZON, Turkey — A passenger jet carrying 162 people got stuck on a cliff’s edge moments after skidding off a runway early last Sunday at Turkey’s Trabzon Airport.

According to The Associated Press, no one was hurt in the incident, and everyone on board was evacuated safely. The airport was closed temporarily.

Authorities said they did not know what caused the incident involving the Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-800, which was traveling from Ankara to Trabzon, the AP reported.
