Baby girl with 'worst case of meningitis in decades' after her fourth limb amputation

Little Kia Gett has had all four of her limbs amputated during her battle with the deadly illness.  The ten-month-old was first rushed to hospital in September after her dad Paul, 35, went to check on her during the night and found that her body was covered in a rash, a known symptom of meningitis.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and the baby girl had a mini cardiac arrest before she was rushed to Bradford Royal Infirmary, West Yorkshire.
Tens of thousands of pounds have been raised for the family of a baby girl who contracted ‘the worst case of meningitis in decades’.
A JustGiving page started to raise money for Kia and her family has now raised more than £25,000.

Her parents Paul and Vikki were then given the devastating news that she would have to have all four of her limbs amputated.
An MRI scan showed that Kia would be deaf, blind and have 90 per cent brain damage.
The little girl’s mum had taken her to the GP a few days before as Kia was ‘not herself’, but consultants have since told the family that the GP would not have been able to detect meningitis at that time.
